Are all libraries the same? In a lot of discourse it’s assumed they are; that all libraries are in much the same business.
But is a school library to be compared with a business library? A hospital library with a public library?
The answer to this has some bearing on the answer to how we deal with libraries as places- the commons idea. Perhaps much of Library 2.0 applies more strongly to some forms of library than others?
Not to say that nothing can be learned or applied from it in these cases. Rather that in some cases the ongoing drive to virtualisation inherent in much of Library 2.0 is best tempered with some form of place.
And yes, that’s a Terry Pratchett quote up there.
